Upper North Island

Please select your Upper North Island Location -

Have you been to Cape Reinga - to the very top of New Zealand?  On the way, visit Waitangi in the beautiful Bay of Islands, where the founding document of our country (The Treaty of Waitangi) was signed in 1840.

If you are in Auckland, a trip up the Sky Tower is a must, or go sailing on the Hauraki Gulf, take a day trip (or spend a week) on Waiheke Island and visit some of the best vineyards in the upper North Island.

A golfing trip to the Coromandel is another great way to spend a relaxing weekend, especially if you combine it with a dip in one of the many natural hot water mineral springs that the Coromandel has to offer.

And if you are in the Waikato, check out the fabulous Waitomo Caves or go for a ride in a hot air balloon over Hamilton.

Also, don't forget the scenic central north island areas which include the hot mud pools and boiling water geysers of Rotorua, or New Zealands largest lake - Lake Taupo.  And of course you can go skiing or mountain climbing on the Tongariro National Park mountains.

Then there is the East Coast, the home of Gisborne which is the first city in the world to see the sun each day.   Whether you are looking for fine dining, award winning wineries, walks and nature reserves, spectacular gardens or beautiful beaches Gisborne has it all.
