Beachaven Kiwi Holiday Park: 21 Leo Street, Waihi Beach #1245: From $22.00 per night

Beachaven Kiwi Holiday Park is located at the northern end of Waihi Beach only a few minutes walk from swimming, surf and sunbathing. We offer a range of accommodation including tent and motorhome sites through to cabins and motel units.

Holiday at Waihi Beach

Waihi Beach is one of the safest beaches in the Bay of Plenty. With its white sand beach, swim friendly surf and so much to do in the surrounding area, Beachaven is a great base for families, friends and couples.

Plenty to see and do

Explore the local area with its interesting gold mining history, or walk the many great walkways. The fishing is good at Waihi Beach, as is the local fish and chip shop. So catch’em, or buy’em, and simply enjoy the sunshine.

A ‘freshen up’ at Beachaven

Since 2010, all sorts of upgrades have been made at Beachaven. New gardens have been added as well as a children’s playground. We’ve added an outdoor deck area to the kitchen, upgraded the laundry, and you’ll be pleased to find brand new showers and toilets. You can rest assured that there’ll be plenty more changes to come!

Safe friendly holiday park

Beachaven is a safe friendly holiday park set on four acres and offers a choice of accommodation types depending on how you wish to rest your head. Contact us to find out about planning a family holiday, weekend getaway, family reunion, trip to New Zealand or summer holiday. If you are a group of friends or large family we can accommodate up to 86 people in our cabins and motel units.

Tent sites

Enjoying camping? Planning on a summer holiday in the sun? We’ve got plenty of space for you to pitch your tent and if you plan to stay a while, bring your favourite appliances from home as we have powered sites.

Motorhome and caravan sites

Travelling around New Zealand in your campervan or with a caravan? We’d welcome you rolling up on our doorstep for a night or two.

Standard cabins, self contained units and park motels

If you are the sort of camper that prefers a comfortable bed over an air mattress, a fridge instead of a chilli bin, and electricity rather than a gas stove then you’d probably prefer our range of cabins, self contained units and park motels.

Check our park map for accommodation positioning.

Pet Friendly

We are a pet friendly holiday park, and we encourage you to bring your four legged friend/s on holiday with you.   Please inform us at the time of booking that you are bringing your pet with you.

Pets are only allowed in the self contained units and on campsites.

There are however a few things that you'll need to be mindful of when staying at the park with your pet/s.

  1. All dogs must be on a lead, at all times, when in the park grounds.
  2. Dogs must be appropriately restrained at your site or unit.
  3. Dogs must not be left unattended.
  4. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets in the park and in the neighbourhood.
  5. Any disturbances such as barking must be stopped as soon as possible to ensure other guests are not inconvenienced.
  6. Dogs must comply with the Western Bay of Plenty District Council’s policy on dog control. Dogs are prohibited at specific times from the Waihi Beach foreshore and beach reserve.  We can inform you of these times on check in.
  7. If we have given approval that you can stay in a unit or cabin with your pet we require you to provide your credit card details as security against damage.   If there are any breakages or extra cleaning required a minimum amount of $200.00 will be deducted from your credit card.

We do not accept any dogs from the 26th December to the 8th February. The beach is also closed to dogs during this time.

Unfortunately due to negative publicity of some dog breeds we do not accept the following:

  1. Bull mastiff
  2. Pit-bull
  3. Staffordshire
  4. Rottweiler

Activities and Attractions at Waihi Beach

Beachaven Kiwi Holiday Park is situated in the coastal township of Waihi Beach (pop. 2,070) at the northern tip of the Bay of Plenty region. The larger settlement of Waihi (pop. 4500) lies approximately 10 kilometres to the west of Waihi Beach. Because it has so much to offer, the area has long been a magnet for holiday makers from New Zealand.

Waihi Beach boasts nine kilometres of white sand coastline, including one of the safest surf beaches in New Zealand. The immediate surrounding area provides ideal conditions for a range of activities from stunning bush walks to water sports.

Or if you want to explore further afield the Coromandel Peninsula is a day trip away and you mustn’t miss the picturesque Karangahake Gorge, just 20 minutes from Waihi Beach, with its beautiful river walks and swimming spots set among bush clad hills.
