Natures Edge Campground

Welcome To Natures Edge Camp Ground. We are a Family, Environment & Nature Orientated Friendly Campground & Kid's Play Zone. Located on 50 acres in the middle of New Zealands Largest Scenic Reserve alongside the pristine Waioeka River at New Zealands Best Spot.

Our focus is having natural stuff for kids to do to get back to nature through play & activity & learn an appreciation for the environment. Kids experience new things about nature & country life & grow in confidence the longer they are here. We aren't just a campground were an adventure with heaps to do! "What's to do Mum"? 

                                                      

Camp sites consist of as much room as you need so your not packed in like sardines. There is ample room for caravans, motor-homes, tents, vehicles, boats etc as we have 50 acres. The camp site is 500 meters off the road so there is no traffic noise & secure. The site is available for families & couples or large group gatherings, school groups in a serene setting. Surround by numerous native birds where you go to sleep with the sound of the morporks & awake with the sounds of living in the middle of nature. We are an environmental & nature friendly campground with basic natural amenities. We don't do rubbish collection. Bring a container or large plastic bag to put your rinsed rubbish in. There is plenty of pure fresh running drinking water outlets available. There are outside toilets that are cleaned several times daily. Toilet paper is not supplied. An enclosed shower stall with cold running water & a pulley to hang a solar shower. The river offers a crystal clear pure water bath also. There are no sites with electricity.  

Rates: Campers: 16 years & over $10.00. 15 years & under stay FREE. 4 children free per one paying adult. Additional children $5 each. Day visitors are $5 each. We are open labour day to Easter weekend.  We are sheltered from the wind & blowing sand compared to the beach & don't have the fear of sharks, rip currents, tsunamis, biting crabs, stinging jelli fish, sting-rays or sand that gets everywhere! You can actually relax when your kids are in the water here! We do have numerous swimming holes with pure crystal clear drinkable slow moving water. Much safer than the unpredictable ocean. Even though it feels like we are in the middle of nowhere we are only 10 minutes away from some of the nicest beaches in NZ & town that has all your supplies.

  

Dogs & horses are permitted here. Dogs owners have a separate camping paddock & separate river access area for their dogs as well as walk area. Horses are $10 per day kept in a single wire electric fence paddock with grass & water. River, creek riding & paddock exercise available.
